The Asian Welfare & Cultural Association (AWCA) launched their Diversity and Inclusion Award at the Locomotive Engineering Club and Institute for the Borough of Eastleigh on Friday 21st November 2014. The Nazir Farooqi Award will be an annual acknowledgement of an individual, group team or organisation that has made a significant contribution to community cohesion, and promoting equality. The first award went Mr. John Bonney, the retiring Chief Fire Officer of Hampshire Fire Rescue Service. Mr. Bonney throughout his life has committed to protecting and saving the lives of people. He has been a great supporter of Equality Agenda, at local, regional level. He hosted the first Eastleigh.Tags
